65.0.1Get Started

The following prerequisites must be completed before using the Prior Authorization Solution:

• Access to a Smile Health Data Platform (HDP) instance (existing or new)
• Network permissions for required endpoints
• Premium license key from Smile Digital Health
• Administrative access to configure modules within the HDP instance

65.0.2Install Smile Health Data Platform

To run the Prior Authorization Solution, a Smile HDP instance meeting the minimum version requirement must be available. Depending on the environment, either an existing instance can be used or a new one deployed.

65.0.2.1Using an Existing Instance

An existing Smile HDP instance can be used to run the Prior Authorization Solution if it meets the minimum version requirement:

• Minimum version required: 2024.08.R01
• If this version is already deployed, proceed to Configure Network.
• If the current version does not meet the requirement, follow Smile documentation for upgrading an existing installation: Upgrading Smile HDP.

65.0.2.2Deploying a New Instance

For new deployments, follow these steps to set up a Smile HDP instance:

1. Go to the Smile Digital Health Release Website.
2. Download the latest available release (minimum version 2024.08.R01).
3. Follow the deployment instructions:
   • Installing Smile HDP Locally.
   • Docker Container Installation.
4. Apply any necessary configurations to the Properties File.

65.0.3Configure Network

Ensure the network meets Smile HDP requirements so that all modules can communicate with external systems:

Proper network configuration supports the operation of all solution modules (CRD, DTR, PAS), depending on the deployment.

Specific endpoints and ports may need to be accessible based on which modules are being used. Refer to the Smile HDP Network Infrastructure Requirements for detailed guidance.

65.0.4Licensing

A Premium license key is required to enable the Prior Authorization Solution modules:

• Contact Smile's Technical Account Manager to request a license key.
• License keys can be provided as a string value or a JWKS file.
• For file-based installation, place the JWKS file in a folder within the HDP classes directory (e.g., smilehdp_pa_license).
• Update the cdr-config-Master.properties file to point to the license key location or enter the key string.
• Save and exit the configuration file.
