Create the Patient Access API Endpoint

Serve Patient Access API traffic from a dedicated FHIR endpoint module. Its module ID appears as endpointModuleId on every transaction log event, which lets the Transaction Log Broker module select Patient Access API requests and leaves other APIs on the same FHIR Storage module unaffected.

Create the Module

  1. In the Smile Web Admin Console (with administrator access), navigate to: Configuration → Module Config → Add Module.
  2. Select FHIR Endpoint and assign a module ID, for example http_patient_access.
  3. Set the module dependencies:
  4. Enable OpenID Connect security, and disable anonymous access and HTTP Basic authentication, so that every request must carry an access token.
  5. Save and start the module.

The equivalent module properties are:

module.http_patient_access.type=ENDPOINT_FHIR_REST
module.http_patient_access.requires.PERSISTENCE_ALL=persistence
module.http_patient_access.requires.SECURITY_IN_OIC=smart_auth_pa
module.http_patient_access.config.port=8011
module.http_patient_access.config.context_path=/patient-access-fhir
module.http_patient_access.config.security.oic.enabled=true
module.http_patient_access.config.security.http.basic.enabled=false
module.http_patient_access.config.anonymous.access.enabled=false

Replace persistence with the module ID of your FHIR Storage module. The port and context path are examples.
